04 May 2017 23:07 The topic says it all, he's not vital to Mourinho's plans. If we can get him off the wage bill this summer I would show him the door. He has been a fantastic servant to United, even taking into account the time he held us to ransom over a new contract in 2010. But loyalty and sentiment alone win you nothing. He isn;t going to be one of those players that will be good enough to play for United into his late thirties. And he's going to become one fat bastard when he does retire. |

06 May 2017 00:11 He will look back at his career one day, and realise that he has largely wasted his career. He could have been England's best ever player. Dont get me wrong, he will be remembered as both a United and football legend, he acheived too much not to be. But he should have made so much more of his extraordinary talent. |

One of the things that made him so special was that he had an explosive turn of pace, and when that disappeared in his mid-twenties, he has been declining ever since. He's always been borderline world class, but never quite made the jump like Ronaldo and Messi did. |
